About Us
THE BACKGROUND:
Homofactus Press, LLC began as a concept of Jay Sennett, noted filmmaker, writer, speaker and blogger and has emerged as a small, digital publishing company. Homofactus Press primarily publishes books directed at female-to-male transsexuals / transmen / transgenders (FtMs) throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Australia. The mission of Homofactus Press is to publish the highest quality of books that discuss meaningful experiences by, for, and about FtMs, with particular emphasis towards communities of color and communities with disabilities.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
In a transformed world, income or ability is not a barrier to reading a book.
HOW WE ACHIEVE THE BOTTOM LINE:
Publish the best books in the world.
Enhance the well being of all readers around the world making all books available for free PDF and audio download.
Enhance the well being of our authors by providing robust royalty payments and limited rights.
HOW WE KNOW WE ARE SUCCEEDING:
We achieve our sales goals without going into debt.
We do what we say we are going to do.
We bootstrap costs and honor our financial commitments.
We publish unusual titles geared to communities of color and communities with disabilities.
We have fun.
We share profits with those who helped us make them.
We find success and happiness in our microbranding strategy by remembering we never set out to be Alyson Publications or Simon and Schuster).
HOW WE WORK:
Our work of Homofactus Press is collaborative in nature. If you are a writer who wants to be involved in all aspects of your book, from editing to marketing, we like your style.
Our readers are gold. We try to honor them with every book we publish.
WHAT WE PUBLISH:
While our primary work is to publish works for and about female-to-male transsexuals / transmen / transgenders (FtMs), we also publish other books. A Life Less Convenient and Queer Shorts are just two examples. We live complex lives, with conflicting identities. Shouldn’t our literature support that?
